Anchors and Ink proudly offers a Bend Oregon tattoo school and permanent makeup program in the heart of downtown. Those looking to become a certified Oregon tattoo artist may complete the program at Anchors and Ink under the direction of Kristopher “KJ” Brown. Having been certified in 2009, KJ brings a wealth of experience and talent to tattoo apprentices in Bend, OR, as the Program Director.
Students can choose between becoming a tattoo artist, permanent makeup artist or microblading professional under the guidance of KJ. The fully accredited program allows students to complete the necessary training to become certified Oregon tattoo artists or microblading artists.
Anchors and Ink Tattoo School operates Monday – Wednesday from 11am – 7pm. We observe all federal and state holidays.
Tattoo apprentice training at Anchors and Ink includes 210 hours of theory and 150 practical hours. Each tattoo apprentice completes a minimum of 360 hours of training and 50 apprentice tattoos before they are eligible for Oregon state tattoo certification. This training allows all of the artists who complete the program to have the necessary credentials to become a state-licensed tattoo artist upon completion of the State Board Exam.
By completing these disciplines, students will leave Anchors and Ink with an in-depth understanding of the tattoo industry, state laws, health and sanitation, safety, art and design, tattoo equipment and business operations. Artists completing the Oregon tattoo school program or microblading program at Anchors and Ink leave with a robust portfolio they can use to for future employment opportunities.
Students who have completed the Anchors and Ink tattoo school program have gone on to tattoo with leading tattoo artists including Chase Tafoya and Monolith Tattoo Studio. “Skin Wars” winner and body artist Natalie Fletcher completed tattoo school at Anchors and Ink, as well. Anchors and Ink has developed a reputation throughout the industry as one of the leading tattoo schools in Oregon.
